Grooming terms and conditions

IMPORTANT – Please ensure you read our terms and conditions prior to your dog’s appointment

Parking For Grooming

Please DO NOT use the car park opposite our shop as this is private and has a camera at the entrance. The closest carpark is behind Costa Coffee which is just 20 yards away.

Rescheduling / Cancellations / No-shows

As a courtesy, Belle’s Bubbles sends out reminders by text and email, but it is your responsibility to remember, and with today’s technology, there are many other ways to keep track of appointments, such as iPhone reminders, Google Calendar, Google Home, Alexa, etc.

We require a 36 hr notice to cancel or reschedule appointments. Failure to give the required notice may result in a No-Show/last-minute cancellation fee equal to 50% of the service appointment and a deposit for the next appointment scheduled.

Not Satisfied with the haircut?

If you are not satisfied with your dog’s hair cut please let us know within 48 hours. Belle’s Bubbles reserves the right to adjust it free of charge.  This does not include if you “changed your mind” and want a different clip or length than you originally told us. It is your responsibility to make this clear during drop-off. Please check your pet’s groom before leaving the salon.

Hand-Stripping

advised that the prices are ‘from’ the amount quoted on our price list. This is because the length of time required for each individual dog can vary. In some instances, we may need to ask for your dog to come back for a second appointment.

Accidents

Knicks, clipping nails. Pets can often move without warning. If an accident does occur, we will inform you accordingly and either, disinfect and apply a pet-friendly blood stopper, or stop the groom and contact the owner to arrange medical assistance from a qualified vet. In rare instances, our groomers may be unaware of minor injuries. If you notice something after your dog’s groom, please contact us within 24 hours.

We cannot be held liable for any accidents that occur as a result of your dog being matted as
the likelihood of injury is greatly increased in this instance.

Please do not arrive early to collect your pet or communicate with them as an excited pet can be dangerous to work on. We reserve the right to end a groom early in this instance with the full grooming fee charged.

Aggressive dogs

Please inform us prior to the groom if your dog is aggressive towards people or other dogs. Aggressive dogs may need to be muzzled during the groom. You must inform us in advance if you do not wish for dog to be muzzled. We reserve the right to cancel a groom before or during if we do not feel it is safe to proceed.

Noisy/overly nervous dogs

If your dog is particularly noisy or overly nervous you MUST inform us prior to the groom taking place as we may need to adjust the time of your dog’s appointment to accommodate their needs/our neighbours.

Images & Videos

Belle’s Bubbles may take and share images and or videos for fun and training purposes about canine clients’ grooming session. If you do not want us to take photos of videos of your dog’s groom please let us know prior to their groom.

De-Matting

In accordance with the Animal Welfare act 2006, your pet needs to be protected from pain suffering and injury. Matts and knots are uncomfortable for the pet, tough for the groomers and create a dislike for grooming by your dog. If we feel that the above applies to your dog, we may need to clip your dog’s coat shorter than usual and will not be able to groom your dog to the desired standard.

We go to great lengths to educate owners on how to prevent matting, so dogs arrive matt free. Dogs that do not receive adequate home maintenance, may need to be clipped shorter  for a pain-free grooming.  If you are not sure how to prevent matting please ask one of our team for guidance.

Matting Fees: if your dog has severe matting there may be extra charges to cover the extra time required to work through them and cover the cost of excessive wear and tear on our equipment. Additional charges will depend on the severity of the matted coat.

We will advise prior to the groom or during the groom if your dog has any of the above issues. Please ensure you are contactable throughout the appointment. If we are unable to reach you we may stop the groom which could result in an additional appointment at the cost of the owner.

Dogs that are matted on a consistent basis may be turned away.

Fleas, ticks & parasites

If we find fleas and/or ticks we reserve the right to stop the groom at any point and ask for the appointment to be re-scheduled. The fee for the groom will be payable in addition to a rescheduled appointment.

We do not remove ticks. We feel a vet is the most appropriate person to do this for you.

Medical conditions

If your dog has any existing medical conditions you must notify us prior to the groom. For some dogs, the grooming process can be stressful and can expose hidden medical problems or worsen current ones. If your dog becomes unwell during the groom we will make every effort to contact you and reserve the right to seek urgent veterinary care at the expense of the owner if we feel it is necessary.

Anal glands

We do not express anal glands. We feel the a vet is best placed to carry out this procedure
for your dog.
